This news can be not related to Joomla but touch me personally. Today Pop stated that all other Churches except Catholic are not true one. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070710/ap_on_re_eu/pope_other_christians This is ridicules stament tells that Vatican wants return dark ages of persecutions. In this beast the same voice and the same breath that fire everyone who thinks differently. This also tells that time is near when final action of this earth will take place. It confirms also some Bible prophecy. I am sorry to disturb you but there is not only business in the life. There are important spiritual environment and no one can ignore that or disclaim. I liked this post, Sergey. I agree: there is more to life than business.
I too disagree with the pope. The Bible, not man, is the only reliable source for a definition of the "true church." @Brian I like your thought about truth being a definite. Doesn't seem to be a popular concept these days. I think you are right about the major religions too. They do have a common destination, whether you call it man's attempt to achieve a right relationship with God, get to heaven, or find enlightenment. Christianity is the only exception I am aware of in that it is pretty clear on the point that NOTHING man can do can be big enough to win God's favor: it's God reaching to man, not man reaching to God. Religious views often seem to inflame people. The Pope should know better, but I think he has an agenda and is deliberately seeking to incite.
Nevertheless, he like any other ordinary person alive today, is entitled to his opinion and to say what he thinks, even if or when it is bizarre and ridiculous.
There are two definites in life: one is nonsense and the other is truth. A great life skill that all of us could do well to develop, is the ability to separate the nonsense from truth. Honing this skill can help us both in our personal and business lives.
Here's one idea that I believe is true: every true religion is essentially the same but each has a different "suite of clothes" - so naturally, each appears to be different from the others. Yet that's the drama and fun of illusion.
Imagine a globe or sphere that is filled with white light. Then cover that globe or sphere with a black opaque cloth. Suddenly, no light shines through; all we see is a black ball. Next make a single small hole in the cloth - even a pin head size is enough - and again, the light shines through. Make another hole in a different position, and another, and another, and so on. Now you have multiple areas where the light shines through.
Each one of those holes where the light shines through is like one of the world's genuine religions, demonstrated through genuine people: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Baha'i Faith, Confucianism, Jainism, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism and Taoism, to name but a few.
Each is equally valid, just provides a different way to the same destination (= truth). What's more, different religions help colour our world and make it more fun - and that's a view from someone who is not religious in the conventional sense.
Tomorrow, or in a few days, like all advertising / publicity stunts, what the Pope says in the article will be old news.
So, my friends, my advice is: (1) pay little heed to nonsense, (2) sharpen your bullsh*t filters, (3) like a tree, stay flexible, and (4) lighten up - and life can be much more fun :-)
