jUser + jContentSubscription + Newsletters - Not sending?

Wednesday, 11 June 2008
First off, I have jUser and jContentSubscription set up, I created a section/category for my newsletters and I set it so only subscribed users get access to that area..

I went into jUser and I selected the newsletter item I wanted, I clicked send, I selected the subscriptions it should go to, I entered a subject and body ... I previewed, everything looked fine.. then I sent....

The e-mails never arrived..

Normal notifications work just fine on the site, when someone registers I get notified, when I added a subscription for a user, it let me know .. so I know at least that jContentSubscription is able to send messages..

Why do newsletters not work?  .. this is my TOP priority .. but I do want to address something I read in another thread that caused me a little concern.

I believe a little priority should be given to correct 1 Year(s) / Year .. I realize your dev team is working on 1.5 but you have paying 1.0 users as well .. we just purchased this and I must say I was bothered when I read in another thread that all attention is being devoted to 1.5, seems it might be fruitful to have one developer at least put some focus on your paying customers.. the glitch might not be critical as you said, at least not in functionality.. but it sure looks bad and reflects badly on those sites using it, it's an important issue.. I am a developer and I can fix it myself but I make it a policy not to modify purchased code because it makes upgrading more difficult..

Think about it .. the people PAYING for your software are hoping their users will have confidence to buy subscriptions from them, when there are things such as that on the screen, some (not all) will lose confidence in that site.. I work for a marketing firm and that was something they cringed at when they saw.. it's not at all good for the users of the software.

OTHERWISE; I'm very happy so far with the software.. I do have one beef about not including more payment processors out of the box, I find it rather sad that I have to go shell out $29 per processor to a third party .. I might just take it on myself to write free versions for people by request.. I'll more than likely be authoring an authorize.net plugin on my own
